FAQ
How do I care for my Niessing jewelry properly?
Clean your piece of jewelry with hot water, a little soap and a soft cloth or a small, soft brush. This gently removes everyday dirt. Professional refreshing and refurbishing are carried out at the Niessing manufactory. Please contact a Niessing Store or a Niessing partner, who will then send the piece of jewelry to the manufactory.
What is the best way to store jewelry?
To avoid scratches and tangling, jewelry should ideally be stored separately in soft pouches or in a jewelry box with individual compartments. Particularly delicate pieces should not come into direct contact with one another.
How often should Niessing jewelry be inspected?
Niessing offers a complimentary inspection service. For pieces of jewelry with diamonds that are worn daily, we recommend an inspection every one to two years. Please contact a Niessing Store or a Niessing partner, who will send the piece of jewelry to the manufactory for inspection. Shipping costs may occur.
If the inspection shows that a repair or replacement is necessary, you will receive a quote at a fair service price.
Can a worn Niessing piece of jewelry be refreshed or reconditioned?
Yes. Jewelry changes through wear and develops individual signs of wear over time. Depending on the desired result, a Niessing piece of jewelry can be refreshed or more extensively refurbished at the manufactory. Please contact a Niessing Store or a Niessing partner, who will send the piece of jewelry to the manufactory.
What is the difference between refreshing and refurbishing?
During refreshing, the piece of jewelry is cleaned at the Niessing manufactory and the surface is re-matted or polished. Deeper signs of wear may remain visible. During refurbishing, the piece is treated more extensively to restore it as closely as possible to its original appearance. The appropriate treatment depends on the individual piece of jewelry and the desired result.
Can Niessing jewelry be repaired?
Yes. Repairs, alterations and other service work are carried out at the Niessing manufactory. Which work is possible and appropriate depends on the individual piece of jewelry and its condition. Please contact a Niessing Store or a Niessing partner. The piece will be sent from there to the manufactory for inspection; for chargeable work, you can receive an individual quote in advance upon request.
Can the ring size be changed later?
Yes. Niessing carries out ring size adjustments free of charge up to a maximum of four weeks after the purchase date; pavé-set rings and custom-made pieces are excluded. Rings that have been worn for longer can also be resized at fair prices. Which adjustment is technically possible depends on the individual ring. Resizing is carried out at the Niessing manufactory; please contact a Niessing Store or a Niessing partner.
What types of engraving does Niessing offer?
Niessing offers various types of engraving. Classic diamond engraving is cut with a diamond, has a glossy finish and is particularly easy to read on rings with a matte interior. Laser engraving is matte and therefore particularly easy to read on rings with a polished interior; it can also be used to reproduce a fingerprint, for example. With hand engraving, an engraving expert cuts the message letter by letter in the finest craftsmanship. For a facsimile — such as your own handwriting or a small drawing — a suitable template is required. The available options may vary depending on the ring and ring width.
Does the surface of a Niessing ring change over the years?
Yes. Wearing a ring changes its surface: matte surfaces become shinier over time, while polished surfaces become more matte. This creates an individual patina that reflects the story of the piece of jewelry. Those who wish to restore the original surface appearance can use the Niessing refreshing or refurbishing service at the manufactory. The piece is sent in via a Niessing Store or a Niessing partner.
What warranty does Niessing offer?
Niessing offers an international warranty of two years from the date of purchase. Every Niessing design is tested before launch, and products such as the Niessing Spannring are additionally subject to individual measurement procedures. All pieces of jewelry receive an ID number that makes their history and authenticity traceable.
Can I have my Niessing jewelry serviced by another jeweler?
Service work should be arranged through a Niessing Store, an authorized Niessing partner or the Concierge Service. The work itself is carried out at the Niessing manufactory. Unauthorized alterations, repairs or other interventions may restrict warranty coverage and future service options.
